Aitong Health Clinic

The Kicheche Community Trust contribute annually towards the free Aitong Medical Camp events. This enables our volunteer doctors to treat close to a thousand patients yearly, half of them are women.

We strongly believe that healthcare is a basic right. Donations made in the past include medicines, medical books, a maternity ward, a dental ward, a water pump, water tanks and the upgrading of the existing solar system.

For the future we are looking for further donations for medicines, ref books or other medical equipment and transport facilities for patients.

Programs & Achievements

Every two years, Kicheche Trust organised with local theater group S.A.F.E Theater Productions, an educative show on the effects of HIV & Aids and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) at the local Market in Aitong.
All this is to help create awareness on HIV & Aids, and against the vices of FGM and to enlighten the local Maasai community on its harms on the girl child.

At Kicheche Laikipia Camp, in Ol Pejeta, the Trust has focused its activities towards the Nanyuki Children’s home. This orphanage is in constant need of support. Currently they have about 75 kids in residence, many are tiny babies.

Donations made in the past include :

  • Blankets
  • Food supplies (especially baby formula)
  • Bursaries to pay school fees, uniforms and books
  • General improvements on the infrastructure
  • Toys

Kicheche Trust donated $1800 worth of sick beds to the Huruma Comprehensive Care Center base in the rural town of Nanyuki. The clinic was opened an outreach center and offers comprehensive care specifically to HIV/Aids patients, both out patients and in-patients.
